INDEPENDENT LIVING
Some young people who have been in care reach the age of 18 with little or no family support. When they move into independent living they have less financial and psycho-social support in comparison with their peers from more functional families. Batshaw Centres has developed a range of programs to better prepare them for independent living. The Foundation offers financial support for expenses incurred when young people get their first place: kitchenware, bedding, the first month's rent, and similar expenses.
