Batshaw’s historical context

Changes to the Health and Social Services Act in 1992 created Batshaw
 
A merger of:
 - Ville Marie Child and Youth Protection Centre
 - Shawbridge Youth
 - Youth Horizons Reception Centre
 - Mount Saint Patrick Youth Centre 
 
Transfer of the Youth Protection mandate of Jewish Family Services Social Service Centre
 
Batshaw has a long tradition of serving the English-speaking and Jewish communities reaching back to 1815
